Role Overview
Ulysses Neuroscience Ltd. is seeking a Research Assistant or Senior Research Assistant to join our Translational Medicine Department. This is a full-time, lab-based role working on biomarker discovery and validation projects utilising Infrared Multiplexed Western Blot, ECL-ELISA, Flow-ELISA, qPCR, and ICC/IHC in human patient biofluids (Plasma/CSF), rodent brain and plasma, and cell culture extracts. We’re looking for someone experienced, reliable, and passionate about hands-on work with biomarker analysis platforms.
We are a private Contract Research Organisation (CRO) based in Ireland providing clinical and preclinical research services to pharmaceutical companies in order to accelerate their drug discovery programmes in neuropsychiatric, neurodegenerative and rare neurological disorders. Our mission is to advance the understanding and treatment of brain disorders through translational neuroscience, bridging preclinical and clinical research while keeping patients’ needs at the centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execution of daily routine molecular biology analyses (Western Blot, ELISA, PCR, ICC, IHC, etc.).
- Data analysis, visualisation, and presentation of results.
- Contribution to study reports, manuscripts, and conference presentations.
- Active participation in cross-functional project teams within the CRO.
Requirements:
- Legal status to live and work in the Republic of Ireland.
- BSc or MSc in Neuroscience, Cell Biology, Pharmacology, or Life Sciences adjacent field.
- Experience in the listed experimental techniques and motivation to learn new techniques (cell culture, new biomarker technologies, etc).
- Ability to design, execute, and interpret experimental results with assistance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in presenting data.
- Team-oriented, proactive, and detail-focused.
Desired Experience:
- Experience in Cell Culture platforms (Immortalised cell culture, rodent primary neuron, human iPSC).
- Experience working with both human and rodent tissue/fluid samples.
- Industry or CRO research experience.
